The festival is held at Poquonnock Plains Park,
centrally located in the middle of Groton.
This will be the site of an Arts and Crafts Show,
business displays, exhibits, food vendors and entertainment.

Presenting sponsors are Groton Utilities, Thames Valley Communications, the Town of Groton Recreation Department and radio station Q105.

Groton’s Sixth Annual Fall Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is a rain or shine event.

Lichen Walk

They grow on our roofs and old cars, on trees, bare soil and rocks-even inside of some rocks.but what are they? This program will introduce participants to the world of lichens.  We will learn what they are, where to find them and how they grow.  The three basic growth forms will be introduced and discussed and information on lichen diagnostics (key features for identification) and lichen identification will be learned. The field walk will point out several species of lichens, and will provide information on ecological and environmental aspects of lichens.     Relive the 1920′s at our recreation of a speakeasy here in the lodge at the base of the Auto Road!  Casino winnings can be turned in for tickets toward fabulous prizes!  Come as you are or join us in costume and get ready to step back in time for a night at the Speakeasy: A 1920′s Casino Night! Tickets include $150 in gambling chips, heavy hors d’oeuvres from White Mountain Cider Company, tastings of our signature wines in take home commemorative glasses, a mead tasting from the Sap House Meadery and entertainment throughout the night!

    ON THE VALLEY TRAIN, you'll enjoy the scenery of the Mt. Washington Valley countryside as you travel roundtrip from the historic North Conway train station to either Conway or Bartlett. Children under 4 ride FREE in Coach on the Valley Trains, and well-behaved dogs are always welcomed at Conway Scenic Railroad!

    Our full Fall Schedule began on Saturday, September 17th
    Conway Valley Trains depart at 10:30, 1:30 & 4:30 daily.
    Bartlett Valley trains depart at 11:30 & 2:30 daily, with an additional "Sunset" train at 6:00 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
    Lunch is served daily on the Dining Car Chocorua, with dinner served on the "Sunset" departure. Join us for a unique dining experience on the rails!
