Mystic Seaport News Release

Connecticut Designates a "Year of the Charles W. Morgan"

Last week the Connecticut State Senate and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy officially designated the 2013-2014 academic year to be the "Year of the Charles W. Morgan" in the State of Connecticut. This was a proud moment for Mystic Seaport and an important and influential endorsement from our state officials. The "Year of the Charles W. Morgan" will enable us to integrate our exhibits and programs with the state's education and tourism initiatives and help us raise awareness of the importance of the ship to both Connecticut and America's maritime heritage.

A lot of great things were said at the press conference at the Capitol, and I encourage you to take a few moments to watch the video of the event from the Connecticut Network, which you can do by clicking on this link <http://msm.mysticseaport.org/site/R?i=ovyb23XC92NA-jN3ohwMcA>  (Some users may need to use Windows Media Player to view the clip).

This is just the beginning of great things to come as we move forward in our effort to take the Morgan back to sea on her 38th Voyage in 2014.

Sincerely,

Stephen C. White
President
