Modern Marine Masters Exhibition and Sale The Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport Opens Sunday, April 29, 2012

The Maritime Gallery is proud to introduce its 2012 season with the 33rd Annual Spring Exhibition and Sale, Modern Marine Masters <http://msm.mysticseaport.org/site/R?i=Iafv5pUedRzgs7b--gWE2w> . The exhibit celebrates the timeless beauty of the sea and ships with contemporary art created by award-winning artists from around the globe.

On display will be original paintings, drawings, sculpture, scrimshaw and models from more than 50 of today’s leading maritime artists. Viewers will see varying interpretations of the sea, including classic racing yachts, elegant modern vessels, working boats and those who make their living from the sea, scenes of busy harbors, and paintings of serene beaches.

More than 75 works of art will be exhibited and available for purchase. Modern Marine Masters will be open through June 10, 2012.

The Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport is the nation's foremost gallery specializing in contemporary marine art and ship models. For more than 30 years, the Gallery has been privileged to exhibit the works of leading international maritime artists. Located at historic Mystic Seaport, the Gallery overlooks the beautiful Mystic River attracting art lovers and collectors from around the world.

The Maritime Gallery is currently open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
